YES STORY

In 2000 I was ready to launch YES in its present form through Formula 1 School of English. This was the result:

A 255% client growth in 3 months is impressive by anybody’s standards.

Of course it is not just about growth, but I like objective feedback, and more and more people paying with their own money for a service is pretty objective.

How did it we make that growth?

Well, 10 years ago Formula 1 School of English had three full time teachers plus some part-timers. It had two branches, a possibility of opening a third, and a growing reputation.

So I closed it down.

The teachers left after their contracts ran out, I shut one branch, took a drop in income and threw away the textbooks. I decided to teach everybody myself.

I could not look clients in the eye and guarantee progress. The mainstream textbooks we were using were not bad, but the quality of the lessons was very dependent on the teachers and using supplementary materials.

I was sure there had to be a better way.

And if I did not find out if I was right or not, I would just be working for money - which I really did not fancy.

I attended trainings on Neuro Linguistic Programming, Accelerative Learning, The Silent Way, PhotoReading and Total Physical Response. I read up on the latest findings in Neurology, Evolutionary Psychology and Marketing (after all, what excites people to buy might just excite them to learn, too).

I invested in computers and printers.

I found that accurate objective feedback on progress was essential.

I experimented with seeing how many new words kids could learn in 50 minutes with long term retention. The faster I taught and the more I taught, the faster the kids learnt! Of course, I was using ideas and techniques from all my learning's - but try it for yourself - you will need a lot of material and a willingness to suspend your assumptions, as well as great flexibility in techniques... and you will have deep fun too (though you might be reinventing the wheel!).

I revamped the system a few times, and discarded thousands of cards as I made it teacher friendly and more and more fun.

YES was launched as a system in 2000 and Formula 1 School of English got that 255% growth in its young clients.

And found other effects too:

Kids stayed longer. Before sixth graders often left to start attending Juku, and now the majority stay on into Junior High School.

Lessons are consistent regardless of the teacher and all students make clear measurable progress.

Parents are very enthusiastic, and very happy to recommend our school. New clients coming from recommendations have increased dramatically.

Other schools who asked to use YES got the same results as my school.

 And more.....

The major benefits of YES are detailed on this site. You can always phone me on 090 1855 6058, or email at youngdoug@youngenglishsystem.com

But the most important fact is:

Now you can choose YES.
